The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
DYCD is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to perform the following responsibilities:
- Assist Facilities in covering multiple locations by tracking requests submitted in the ServiceNow Portal system, including rectifying facilities-related issues, troubleshooting copiers and other office machinery, and arranging table/chair setups in Agency meeting spaces.
- Serve as a backup mailroom staff by picking up and delivering mail to 2 Lafayette Street, 123 William Street, and other locations.
- Assist in loading/unloading vehicles, moving small items and packages, and supporting loaders and transporters to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Schedule requests for the use of a city vehicle from staff in a timely manner using ServiceNow.
- Perform routine safety checks on motor vehicles to ensure they are operational before use.
- Manage scheduling and maintenance of all vehicles, including inspections.
- Investigate vehicle operation and performance complaints, maintaining necessary records related to vehicles, equipment, and transported goods or materials.
- Initiate requisitions for automotive supplies, servicing equipment, and work orders for repairs by City repair shops or outside contractors, reporting all information to the AC of Administrative Services.
- Investigate all motor vehicle and personnel accidents, preparing required reports.
- Record and process all violations, reporting incidents to the AC of Administrative Services.
- Schedule Defensive Driving courses through DCAS for staff as needed.
- Submit annual requests for agency vehicle permits via DOT’s ePermits system.
- Maintain proper records of all vehicle-related activities.
- Operate various types of vehicles to transport the Agency Commissioner and Senior Staff to scheduled meetings and events, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Serve as a backup driver for the agency Commissioner.
- Work may require modified schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of relevant experience; or
- Equivalent education and/or experience, with at least one year of experience as described above.
Preferred Skills
- Valid motor vehicle driver license in New York State; candidates with moving violations, license suspensions, or accident records may be disqualified. License must be maintained throughout employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
