Job summary

Selfhelp is seeking a Facilities Associate to clean and maintain the older adult center, monitor repairs, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff.

The role covers daily cleaning, setup for programs, waste disposal, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs to the Program Director. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 35 pounds, with occasional heavy-lift tasks up to 200 pounds, and possess a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the center by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all areas daily.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff.
• Polish, strip, and scrape floors as needed to maintain facility standards.
• Set up classrooms, auditorium, and spaces for programs and events.
• Handle recycling and waste disposal per schedules.
• Collect and remove garbage and recycling daily; transport to curbside pickup.
