Job summary

Prestonwood Baptist Church is seeking a facilities assistant at its Plano campus. The role supports the Director of Facilities with site safety, maintenance, and event setup, interacting with staff, students, families and the community.

Responsibilities include daily mail delivery, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment logs, and coordinating setups for events. Requires a high school diploma, 3–5 years in building maintenance, and a Class B CDL (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of relevant building maintenance experience.
• HVAC knowledge and ability to diagnose problems preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and courteous interaction with staff and public.
• Comfort with rotating 10-hour shifts, including weekends.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Prestonwood membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mail and packages daily and assist with mail room duties.
• Maintain clean, attractive building and grounds.
• Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance across buildings.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain maintenance work orders and equipment logs.
• Coordinate event setups and tear-downs for activities.
• Inspect classrooms and church areas reserved for activities.
• Liaise with the Facilities Manager and other ministries as needed.
• Support housekeeping staff and report safety hazards promptly.
