Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Harlan, Iowa is seeking a Fabricator – Machine Operator to set up, adjust, and run fabrication equipment that produces metal components per blueprints and work orders. You will ensure safety, quality, and accurate production records to meet specs and deadlines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or 1–2 years of experience, ability to read safety rules, and basic math. Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes, rollers, punch presses, sanders, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and other fabrication machinery.
• Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gauges, and height gauges.
• Practice the highest degree of safety when performing essential duties of the position.
• Read and interpret parts drawings, process routings, and production requirement information.

Job Summary of the Fabricator – Machine Operator:

The Fabricator Machine Operator will set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment to produce metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders. This role is responsible for maintaining safe operations, quality standards, and accurate production records.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Fabricator – Machine Operator:

• Operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes, rollers, punch presses, sanders, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and other fabrication machinery.
• Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gages, and height gages.
• Practice the highest degree of safety when performing essential duties of his position.
• Read and interpret parts drawings, process routings, and production requirement information.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Fabricator – Machine Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1-2 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills including dimensions, quantities, metric conversions, algebra, and geometry.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, diligence, and time management skills.
• Welding experience is a plus, but not required.
