Permobil is seeking a Fabrication Technician in New Berlin for 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00am–2:00pm). You will assemble seating and positioning equipment, read work orders, use power tools, and follow BOMs to produce quality parts. Expect overtime and a full-time schedule with safety ISO compliance.

Perform a varietyof assembly operations to produce and assemble seating and positioningequipment according to specifications and quality standards using poweredequipment and adhesives.
Read and follow work order specifications via Electronic Distribution of Orders (EDO) & order hard copies to build and assemble quality parts in an accurate and timely fashion.
Work from bill of materials, drawings and specifications.
Use a variety of measuring instruments.
Operate band saw, grinder, t-nut machine, drill press, portable power tools and glue gun.
Locate materials required to assemble products.
Monitor stock quantities, scrap, report stock outs via EDO and turn in Kanban cards to purchasing group.
Confer and correspond with purchasing group to rectify problems, such as damages, and shortages.
Assist other areas of Fabrication to ensure products are completed on time, such as cutting down foams, adding gel packs, etc.
Process material substitution or inventory adjustments with purchasing group.
Follow and comply with all safety, work rules, regulations, ISO procedures, lean initiatives and lean events.
Assist and Cross train in other departments, as needed, to ensure products are completed on time.
Maintain Kanban System and participate in cycle counts
Recognize and communicate defective parts.
Maintains Quality Service by: Meeting/Exceeding all measurements ofperformance: quality, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of workperformed.
Contributes to team effort by: Maintaining a goodattendance record; accomplishing related results as needed; having on calllist responsibility.
Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.
Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior manufacturing experience.
Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide and metric conversions).
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.
Familiar with portable power tools such as a drill, band saw, and grinder.
Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and supervisor.
Ability to read and interpretdocuments such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, andprocedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before employeesof the organization.
Abilityto define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws validconclusions.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate the internet to access company portals preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong problem-solving mindset.
The expected pay range for this role is $20.00 – $22.00 per hour . Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
