Job summary

Keel seeks a Fabrication Supervisor to oversee the fabrication shop, lead welders and fitters, and coordinate with engineering and quality teams to meet schedules and costs. You will ensure work aligns with blueprints, WPS, and company standards, while maintaining safety and productivity.

The role requires 8+ years in structural fabrication with 3+ years in leadership, plus multiple welding certifications. On-site responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration and process improvements

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in structural fabrication, with 3+ years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Multiple process welding certifications and/or experience with certified welders.
• Experience with heavy steel fabrication, DOD, or industrial projects is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational welding/fabrication training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate welders, fitters, and shop personnel.
• Plan and assign work based on production schedules and material availability.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, WPS, and company standards.
• Inspect welded assemblies for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor progress to meet schedule and cost targets.
• Provide technical direction and hands-on welding/fitting support.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to improve skills and efficiency.
• Enforce safety policies and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project management to resolve issues.
• Maintain records of labor hours, rework, and material usage.
• Support onboarding and certification of new welders and fitters.
