Job summary

Keel seeks a Fabrication Team Lead to oversee daily welding and fabrication activities, ensuring safety, efficiency and quality. You will mentor crew, plan jobs from orders and inspect results to meet standards.

Our team relies on strong welding skills, blueprint interpretation, and knowledge of fabrication. The role requires leadership, problem solving and adherence to safety and process controls at our SC facilities.

Qualifications

• Advanced welding proficiency with FCAW, GMAW, SMAW.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Knowledge of fabrication, structural assembly, and metal properties.
• Ability to analyze work orders and plan sequences.
• Operate welders, cutting torch, shop cranes and forklifts.
• Inspect work in progress and finished products for quality.
• Repair and rework techniques as needed.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience or related area.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and blueprints to understand job requirements and sequence.
• Plan and organize daily tasks to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Set up welding and fabrication equipment per specifications.
• Oversee welding, fabrication, and assembly activities for the team.
• Inspect ongoing work and finished products for quality standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and select repair methods, materials and equipment.
• Supervise team members and provide coaching as needed.
• Ensure safety, policies, and quality procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
