Job summary

Composition Brands is hiring a Fabrication Supervisor to lead the Fabrication Department in Greenville, Michigan. This salaried exempt role oversees material processing and hourly fabrication staff, aligning with production schedules, quality standards, safety, and continuous improvement.

The supervisor will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other departments to ensure parts are produced safely and efficiently according to specs, while maintaining a hands-on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least five years of continuous experience in metal fabrication.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• MIOSHA-certified forklift license or the ability to obtain one within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support hourly fabrication employees.
• Coordinate parts, machines, materials, and resources to meet production requirements.
• Work with Procurement to order and schedule raw materials.
• Manage the flow of materials through the Fabrication Department.
• Develop and implement training programs for new and inexperienced employees.
• Support employee development and provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, discipline, and termination.
• Manage and support first-piece inspections.
• Ensure fabricated parts meet quality standards and engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Participate in engineering design reviews and provide fabrication input.
• Support Engineering with manufacturability, process capability, quality, and cost improvement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Promote positive employee relations, accountability, teamwork, and good attendance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, group standards, MIOSHA requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
