Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. seeks an experienced Machine Shop Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily shop and fabrication operations.

You will supervise production personnel, coordinate machining and fabrication activities, and ensure work meets specifications safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with machining equipment and metal fabrication, plus leadership skills to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical school training or coursework in machining/manufacturing preferred.
• Experience operating or supervising CNC machines, mills, lathes, drill presses, saws and other shop equipment preferred.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor machine shop and fabrication personnel to promote productivity, accountability, and safety.
• Assign daily work based on skill levels, equipment availability, production priorities, and project requirements.
• Monitor schedules, establish priorities, and adjust staffing to meet deadlines.
• Oversee setup, operation, and safe use of machine shop equipment and metal fabrication tools.
• Ensure work follows engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Interpret drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions for production guidance.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve technical issues and prevent delays.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
• Maintain proper use of inspection tools and coordinate preventive maintenance.
