Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily machine shop and fabrication operations.

The role involves supervising production personnel, coordinating machining activities, maintaining quality, and ensuring safe, efficient work aligned with schedules. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with machining equipment, metal fabrication, drawings, and manufacturing processes, with a proven ability to lead a team in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising CNC machining and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proven track record in safety and quality compliance.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
• Experience with equipment maintenance planning and production reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor machine shop and fabrication personnel.
• Assign daily work based on skill levels, equipment availability, priorities.
• Monitor production schedules, establish priorities, adjust staffing.
• Oversee setup, operation, and safe use of machine shop equipment.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings and guide production activities.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve technical issues and prevent delays.
• Identify bottlenecks, material shortages, and obstacles to production.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Ensure proper use of measuring instruments and inspection tools.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Conduct routine quality checks before moving to next stage.
• Maintain safety policies and QA procedures.
• Evaluate performance and address attendance concerns.
• Maintain records of output, labor, materials, and issues.
• Track KPIs like efficiency, on-time completion, quality, scrap, rework.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and productivity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe shop and fabrication area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
