Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC in Duluth, GA is seeking a full-time shop fabricator assistant to support fabrication, assembly, and finishing of materials and components in a safe, organized environment. You will load and move materials, operate hand and power tools, measure and cut, and assist fabricators and welders while following drawings and work orders.

High school diploma preferred; no prior experience required, though manufacturing exposure helps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to read basic measurements and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication and assembly of materials, components, and products.
• Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products within the shop.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment under supervision.
• Perform measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring as needed.
• Support skilled fabricators and welders with setup and material staging.
• Inspect materials for defects and report quality or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
• Follow work orders, drawings, and verbal instructions accurately.

Summary

Responsible supporting shop fabrication operations by assisting with the preparation, assembly, and finishing of materials and components; ensures a clean, organized, and safe work environment while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with the fabrication and assembly of materials, components, and products according to specifications.
• Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products within the shop.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment under supervision.
• Perform measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring as needed.
• Support skilled fabricators and welders with setup and material staging.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly; Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures; Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
