Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Fabrication Crew Lead to direct daily fabrication activities within a structural steel manufacturing environment. You will supervise welders, fitters and helpers, ensuring schedules, quality and safety standards are met.

Lead teams, coordinate with project staff, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. You will collaborate with the project team to develop sequences, recover schedules when needed, and ensure compliance with EH&S and jobsite

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of fabrication, welding or fitting experience and at least 1 year in foreperson or supervisory roles.
• Thorough understanding of welding standards (AWS, CWI) and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read, interpret manufacturing documents, drawings and project schedules.
• Strong planning, coordination and leadership capabilities.
• Commitment to safety and ability to mentor crew members.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily fabrication activities for welders, fitters and helpers.
• Lead and supervise fabrication, welding and fitting trades to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Plan ahead with project team to sequence work and ensure material delivery.
• Oversee safety, conduct pre-task planning and resolve production issues.
• Maintain documentation such as time sheets, production sheets and NCRs as required.
