Job summary

JBS Foods in Omaha, NE is seeking a Fabrication Supervisor responsible for managing daily operations from fabrication orders to ensure customer commitments are met.

You will drive yield improvements, perform safety walks, and work closely with Quality Control to ensure product quality. This role requires supervising hourly staff, tracking hours, and contributing to policy development; occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication/slaughter operations (preferred).
• 1–2 years in meat/food industry (preferred).
• Experience leading a team (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fabrication orders to meet customer needs.
• Maintain yield levels and adjust processes as needed.
• Conduct safety walks at period start to fix issues.
• Collaborate with Quality Control on product quality.
• Enforce disciplinary procedures with hourly workers.
• Track employee hours and labor costs.
• Contribute to policies and procedures development.
• Perform related duties as required.

Description

Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor

Location: Omaha, NE

Reporting to: Fabrication General Foreman

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage daily operation from fabrication orders to comply with customer orders
• Maintain acceptable yield levels on all products and from previous day to make necessary adjustments
• Perform safety walks at the start of each period correcting any non-compliance issues
• Work with Quality Control to ensure appropriate product quality
• Follow disciplinary procedures with hourly employees
• Keep track of employee hours
• Contributes to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position

Required Experience:

• Experience in fabrication or slaughter operations, preferred but not required
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the meat/food industry, preferred but not required
• Experience leading a team preferred but not required.

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibit problem solving and leadership qualities
• Establish and maintain working relationships
• Must be able to walk and or climb stairs for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a loud environment with slick floors and very hot or cold environments
• Ability to work 50-55 hours per week with some Saturday work if necessary
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
