Job description

Czarnowski is one of the four studios of the Czarnowski Collective. It combines operations, strategy, design, and fabrication to create exhibits and events that engage communities, generate brand enthusiasm, and educate consumers. It’s been over 75 years since we opened our doors, but we’re still not resting on our reputation or accolades. We’re wondering “what if...” anticipating what’s next and embracing our role within the Czarnowski Collective as forward-thinkers for forward-thinking brands.

Joining the Czarnowski Collective means the opportunity to be more than a number, more than a job title, more than a spectator. We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we’re searching for more of the same to join the ranks.

The Purpose:

The Finishing Lead 2 performs advanced finishing work and helps coordinate production through job completion. This role manages multiple jobs at different stages of closing, maintains accurate job records, communicates priorities, and supports a productive and respectful team environment.

The Job:

  • Perform advanced and custom finishing assignments according to job requirements, using sound judgment to address complex work.
  • Understand job priorities and help coordinate work with leads and assistants to meet required completion times.
  • Manage the closing of multiple jobs at different stages, including partial jobs, hampers, and
  • closings in progress, while maintaining a clear record of each job’s status.
  • Prepare and maintain required math sheets, CAD documents, and tags, ensuring information is complete and accurate.
  • Update production tracking checkboxes as each stage is completed and proactively communicate job status, outstanding work, and concerns.
  • Prepare for weekly meetings, participate beyond routine status updates, and initiate discussion of production needs and improvements.
  • Help assistants stay focused, discourage nonoperational distractions, and support team members in completing their work.
  • Promote positive morale and a respectful atmosphere, and assist with work-related conflict resolution when the manager is absent.
  • Follow and reinforce the Finishing Room policies, respond constructively to feedback, and model professional conduct.

The Person:

  • Complete assignments quickly and diligently, meet specific required completion times, and finish ahead of schedule when possible.
  • Keep documentation and job status accurate while managing several jobs through different stages of closing.
  • Maintain at least 95 percent on-time attendance and minimize unplanned absences.
  • Communicate planned time off at least two weeks in advance and remain present and productive during required peak production schedules, including 65 or more hours per week.

Required Capabilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced finishing work and the ability to complete custom assignments.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, track multiple jobs, and maintain accurate production documentation.
  • Clear communication, constructive conflict resolution, and a consistent record of professional performance. Internal lead eligibility includes no performance improvement plan in the preceding year.

What we offer:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits effective within 30 days (or less) of your start date
  • 401K matching with no vesting period (you are fully vested as of day 1)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid Holidays
  • Collaborative Work Environment

Collective Culture Core Values:

We recognize that the success of our business rests with the skills and efforts of our people, and in return for their contributions, our employees can expect a flexible work environment that delivers on the 10 principles that define our company culture:

  • We celebrate creativity, curiosity, innovation and imagination.
  • We are humble and respectful.
  • We act with honesty and integrity.
  • We empower and trust one another.
  • We embrace individuality and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • We champion initiatives that bolster diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • We prioritize safe, ethical and sustainable business practices.
  • We foster a culture of meritocracy - rewarding skills and abilities, instead of influence.
  • We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Through several existing and future initiatives, Czarnowski Collective is exploring thoughtful and creative ways to embrace individuality, and more effectively champion diversity, equity and inclusion across our network.
