Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Shift Equipment Engineer to monitor, sustain and improve semiconductor fabrication tools.

The role involves hands-on maintenance, preventive care, and close collaboration with process teams to maximize tool uptime and yield. You’ll apply mechanical, electrical and PC/software skills to diagnose issues, install equipment, run tests, and document procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and adjust to schedule.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and electronics.
• Experience in cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify and handle chemicals and hazards in the work area.
• Monitor and improve tool performance and uptime.
• Assist with equipment installations and testing; document procedures.
• Drive root-cause analysis and formal problem solving (8D).
• Analyze data using SPC methods to improve process control.
• Collaborate with owners and shift teams to resolve issues affecting yield or output.
• Update procedures to align with global practices and training needs.
