Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Specialty Chemical/Slurry Project Engineer to oversee chemical and slurry delivery systems for new construction and retrofit projects. This role manages site contractor activities and ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient tool hookup with a focus on materials of construction and system integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a chemical/engineering background, 3+ years in industrial design/project experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Education: 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic Fab and support project planning for chemical and slurry systems, including the review and approval of first-of-the-kind process tool requirements and identifying critical path solutions for code and regulatory concerns.
• Develop, review, and approve SAS site construction and tool hookup specifications related to chemical and slurry piping, pumps, storage equipment, and distribution rooms and buildings.
• Provide technical guidance to contracted design teams to ensure proper materials of construction and chemical compatibility.
• Audit existing piping and equipment to verify adherence to codes and safety standards.
• Interface with stakeholders across SAS Facilities, Manufacturing, and Engineering to meet project goals and timelines.
• Manage site observations and punch lists through to final resolution.
• Mitigate project risk points related to chemical/slurry safety and code compliance.
