Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Specialty Chemical/Slurry Project Engineer to ensure code compliance and safety across new construction, retrofit projects, and sustaining operations. You will provide technical oversight of site consultants, review material selections, and manage contractor activities to install chemical and slurry delivery systems safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in chemical/mechanical/construction engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of design and project experience focused on chemical/slurry delivery systems in an industrial setting.
• Semiconductor fab experience strongly preferred.
• Construction experience: 3+ years in active construction environments.
• Working knowledge of IBC, IFC, and other codes and standards for chemical/slurry systems.
• Proven experience managing projects through design, installation, and commissioning.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans, P&IDs, shop drawings, and equipment specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present technical info to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Bluebeam; learn custom software for compliance databases.
• PE or PMP/PgMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Fab and support project planning for chemical and slurry systems.
• Review and approve site construction and tool hookup specs for piping, pumps, storage, and distribution rooms.
• Guide design teams on materials of construction for chemical compatibility and abrasion resistance.
• Audit existing piping, equipment, and containment for code compliance and safety.
• Act as primary technical interface between General Contractors, Subcontractors, consultants, and SAS owners.
• Identify, track, and resolve issues; manage site observation reports and punch lists.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to chemical/slurry safety and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify piping and equipment meet design specs and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Engineering to meet project goals and timelines.
• Manage stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
