Job summary

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a 2nd Shift Fab Mechanic - Polish Operator. The role involves cleaning, deburring, polishing, grit blasting, and grinding manufactured parts, with training on the 1st shift.

The position includes a 2nd shift schedule Monday to Thursday, 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM, with a $1.00 shift differential. The candidate must meet education requirements (High School diploma or GED) or have 1–3 months related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Inspects parts for defects and material handling damage.
• Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.
• Mounts tools on revolving spindle for abrasive finishing and deburring.
• Change tooling such as rubberized abrasives and bench grinder wheels as needed.
• Deburrs or polishes parts and grinds weld beads where required.
• Operates Dremel with Scotchbrite or abrasive wheel to polish parts.
• Uses Flex-hone and other tools as directed on instructions.
• Operates hand held Die-Grinder and powered equipment.
• Cleans interiors and exteriors with compressed air after polishing.
• Operates Grit Blast Cabinet when required.
• Lifts up to 10–25 pounds and maintains safety standards.
• Wears respirator and passes medical evaluation and fit test as required.
• Follows schedule, attends trainings, and performs additional duties.

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a 2nd ShiftFab Mechanic - Polish Operator to join the team. This position is responsible for cleaning, deburring, polishing, grit blasting, and/or grinding manufactured parts. Job Description

• Inspects parts for defects and material handling damage

• Able to change out tooling such as rubberized abrasives and bench grinder abrasive wheels as needed
• Holds part against deburring / grinding wheel to deburr tube surfaces or grind weld beads Deburrs or polishes parts
• Operates Dremel with Scotchbrite or abrasive wheel to polish parts
• Uses Flex-hone (Wire-brush) when indicated on operational instructions
• Operates hand held Die-Grinder
• Uses Compressed Air to ensure interior and exterior of parts are blown off after polishing
• Operate Grit Blast Cabinet
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Employee must pass the respirator medical evaluation and respirator fit test prior to performing any duties and on an annual basis thereafter.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear a respirator on average 8 hours a day.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
