Job summary

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a Fab Mechanic - Polish Operator for the 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team. You will perform cleaning, deburring, polishing, grinding and related finish work on manufactured parts.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and may require training on the 1st shift. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 3:15 PM–1:45 AM, with a $1.00 shift differential; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and respirator requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform deburring, polishing and finishing on metal parts.
• Willingness to train on the 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts for defects and handling damage.
• Deburr, polish and grind parts as required.
• Set up and operate grinding and polishing tools.
• Use grit blast cabinet and abrasive wheels safely.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and wear respirator as required.

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a 2nd ShiftFab Mechanic - Polish Operator to join the team. This position is responsible for cleaning, deburring, polishing, grit blasting, and/or grinding manufactured parts. Job Description

• Inspects parts for defects and material handling damage
• Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth
• Mounts tools on revolving spindle for abrasive finishing and deburring.
• Able to change out tooling such as rubberized abrasives and bench grinder abrasive wheels as needed
• Holds part against deburring / grinding wheel to deburr tube surfaces or grind weld beads Deburrs or polishes parts
• Operates Dremel with Scotchbrite or abrasive wheel to polish parts
• Uses Flex-hone (Wire-brush) when indicated on operational instructions
• Operates hand held Die-Grinder
• Uses Compressed Air to ensure interior and exterior of parts are blown off after polishing
• Operate Grit Blast Cabinet
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Employee must pass the respirator medical evaluation and respirator fit test prior to performing any duties and on an annual basis thereafter.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear a respirator on average 8 hours a day.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
