Job summary

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a 2nd shift Fabrication Mechanic - Mold Prep & Trim to set up and run equipment for preparing assemblies to cosmetic and dimensional spec. You will use Dremel tools, grinders, and sanding to finish surfaces and will train on the 2nd shift.

The role requires standing, lifting up to 25 pounds and working Monday-Thursday, 3:15 PM–1:45 AM with a $1.00 shift differential. 401(k), health benefits, EAP, FSA/HSA, PTO, and tuition reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience with basic fabrication and finishing processes preferred.
• Ability to read simple measurements and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Performs material prep and finishing using Dremel and buffing wheels.
• Operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment.
• Grinds, cuts, or sands to meet cosmetic and dimensional specs.
• Prepares parts for molding operations and curing ovens.

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment to prepare assemblies and details to acceptable cosmetic and dimensional requirements. Use hand tools to grind, cut, or sand walls to acceptable limits and specifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions by customer and to company operating procedures.
• Conducts detailed material preparation by operating Dremel tools and buffing wheels and applying sandpaper scuffing techniques to optimize surfaces for finishing processes.
• Uses hand tools to grind, cut, or sand walls to acceptable limits and specifications.
• Uses chemicals, such, but not limited to; chemlock, acetone, and alcohol for the preparation of parts for the next process.
• Prepares parts for curing in ovens in preparation for molding operations.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Consistently, regularly and dependably at work and on time.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
