Job summary

Boeing Defense in San Antonio is seeking a First Line F/A-18SLM Manufacturing Manager to lead a diverse team across fuels, hanger, ramp, and serviceability operations. You will oversee FA-18 modifications and work with the FA-18 SLM Senior Operations Manager to drive readiness for Navy aircraft over the life of the program.

The role requires leadership in a multi-discipline manufacturing setting, a focus on safety and quality, and collaboration with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience of 1+ year or completion of Boeing's Exploring Leadership course.
• 5+ years of aircraft maintenance or modification experience.
• 3+ years in leadership roles (formal or informal).
• Experience with the Navy and F/A-18.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Project management experience.
• Experience leading a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team upgrading and modifying FA-18s for the SLM program.
• Manage employees across fuels, hangar and ramp operations.
• Develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures.
• Acquire resources and lead supplier management and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders and direct reports.
• Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes; motivate staff.
• Promote safety and quality driven environment.
