Job summary

Ferrari of San Diego is seeking an ambitious F&I Manager to join our dynamic team. You will work with the General Manager to determine lenders and financing programs, review credit applications, and prepare loan documents.

The role emphasizes customer interaction, presenting financing options, processing deals, ensuring regulatory compliance, and training the sales team on financing products. Strong communication and negotiation skills required; Tekion experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-years' experience (minimum) in automotive finance department required.
• High School diploma.
• Experience using Tekion preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales.
• Proven track record of achieving or over-achieving goals.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Able to negotiate and apply outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Skill and proficiency in the use of computer software programs, including database systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

• Offer vehicle financing and insurance to customers with thorough explanation of products and warranties.
• Seek new lending institutions and maintain relationships for competitive rates.
• Process financing and leasing deals accurately; secure approvals via appropriate channels.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local automotive finance regulations.
• Collaborate with sales to refer all new sales to the F&I department.

Job Description:

The Finance Manager works with the General Manager to determine which lenders and suppliers of finance products will best be able to meet the criteria set by the dealership. Most of the Finance Manager's job requires interaction with the customer. After establishing a rapport with the customer, the manager reviews the customer’s credit application and credit report and discusses the available finance options to meet their needs. Once the financial arrangements have been finalized, the Finance Manager prepares the delivery documentation, including the preparation of the loan documents, DMV paperwork and other legal forms required by state and federal regulatory bodies.

• Offering vehicle financing and insurance to customers and providing them with a thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended warranties and a complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedures and policies.
• Seeking new lending institutions and maintaining good working relationships to secure competitive interest rates and financing programs.
• Processing financing and leasing deals accurately and securing approval through financial sources to secure approval and through the proper federal, state and corporate channels.
• Understanding and complying with federal, state and local regulations that affect the new and used-vehicle and finance departments.
• Creating and maintaining a program with the sales department that will ensure all new sales are referred to the F&I department.
• Training and providing the sales team with information on finance and lease programs and the benefits of the dealership's financing and extended service programs.
