Job summary

Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, FL, seeks an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to lead dining, bar, and event operations with warmth, polish, and energy. This hands-on leadership role means you’ll be on the floor with your team, coaching staff, managing service flow, and supporting scheduling, inventory, and cost control.

Ideal candidates will bring 2–4 years of supervisory experience, a passion for hospitality, and a willingness to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of supervisory experience in hospitality.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service, wine, and spirits.
• Certifications in food safety and responsible alcohol service are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dining room, bar, and outlet operations, including opening and closing duties.
• Build relationships with members and anticipate their needs.
• Respond to member feedback and resolve service issues promptly.
• Support banquets, private events, and club functions from planning through execution.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture and recognize performance.
• Prepare staff schedules balancing service needs with labor budgets.
• Assist with beverage ordering, inventory counts, and cost control.
• Collaborate with culinary team for kitchen-front communication.
• Ensure health, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
• Step in to manage operations in the absence of the F&B Director.
