Responsibilities
- Supervise the service and delivery of menu items in the assigned restaurant, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.
- Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning health safety and other compliance requirements.
- Train and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
- Monitor performance and recommend corrective action.
- Alert management of potentially serious issues.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints; make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines.
- Oversee cash handling and credit policies and procedures.
- Inspect the restaurant daily to ensure high quality food, presentation and cleanliness.
- Conduct pre‑shift meetings to inform staff of daily events and specials.
- Ensure side‑work duties are complete and tables are set before, during and after operating hours.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Greet guests, serve food and beverage, take reservations and maintain a reservations book if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Some college or supervisory experience preferred.
- 2years of supervisory experience and at least 1year of food service experience in a full‑service restaurant or similar setting.
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50pounds and move around the outlet.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork, scheduling and giving instructions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state authorities.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, lift, pull 50lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to work long hours as needed.
- Make sound judgments quickly.
- Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress toward deadlines.
- Work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others.
- Manage differing personalities within the property, resort and community.
- Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Handle stressful, high‑pressure situations effectively.
- Anticipate, prevent, identify and solve workplace problems as necessary.
