Job summary

Happy Valley Casino in State College, PA is seeking a Food and Beverage Shift Supervisor to support daily front-of-house operations. This hands-on leadership role coordinates service, supervises staff, maintains shift records, and ensures guests receive exceptional service.

The successful candidate will have prior F&B or hospitality experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage records and balance cashiering stations.

Qualifications

• Previous food and beverage or hospitality experience; prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to balance cashiering stations and maintain accurate records.
• Must be able to stand and walk 6–8+ hours per shift.
• Flexible schedule with weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities for the assigned work area.
• Balance cashiering stations at shift start/end and ensure accurate records.
• Assist with staff training and set floor plans for the day.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service per quality standards.
• Adhere to Food and Beverage policies and procedures.
• Relay guest compliments and complaints to the Food and Beverage Director.
• Supervise front-of-house staff during shifts and fill in as needed.

We are looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Shift Supervisor to support daily front-of-house operations. This hands-on leadership role helps coordinate service, supervise employees, maintain accurate shift records, and ensure guests receive exceptional service. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment, and willing to step into other service positions as operational needs require.

This position will report directly to the Food and Beverage Manager and will be responsible for:

• Assisting with opening and closing responsibilities for the assigned work area.
• Ensuring accurate recordkeeping, including balancing cashiering stations at the beginning or end of the shift.
• Assisting with the training of staff.
• Setting floor plans for the day.
• Ensuring the highest level of customer service in accordance with established quality standards.
• Adhering to established Food and Beverage policies and procedures.
• Relaying all guest compliments and complaints to the Food and Beverage Director.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all front-of-house areas.
• Providing direct supervision of employees during assigned shifts.
• Filling in for and performing other staff positions as needed.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate for this role will possess the following:

• Previous food and beverage or hospitality experience; prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• The ability to maintain accurate records and balance cashiering stations.
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods, typically 6–8+ hours per shift.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule based on business needs.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
