Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of security or law enforcement experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a high-volume casino, gaming, hospitality, or entertainment environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, coaching, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Security personnel are trained and qualified in procedures, emergency response tactics, customer service standards, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of Security personnel.
  • Monitor and evaluate team member performance while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain department schedules and staffing plans.
  • Oversee placement of Security personnel to ensure proper coverage across the property.
  • Investigate incidents and coordinate with Surveillance to detect and prevent theft, cheating, and fraud.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $67,500.00 Annually

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Security Manager to join our Security team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of guests, team members, company assets, and property operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, investigative skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service while ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and company policies.

This position will report directly to the Director of Security and will be responsible for:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all Security personnel are properly trained and qualified in department procedures, emergency response tactics, customer service standards, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of qualified Security team members.
  • Monitoring and evaluating team member performance while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Documenting performance concerns and recommending corrective action when necessary.
  • Preparing and maintaining department schedules and minimum staffing plans to support continuous casino operations.
  • Assigning and deploying Security personnel to ensure proper coverage across the property.
  • Responsible for the physical safety of guests and team members, safeguarding company assets, and protecting the property from illegal activity.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources regarding the implementation and enforcement of employee access badges and temporary access credentials.
  • Partnering with Human Resources and Legal representatives to conduct internal investigations and address Risk Management matters.
  • Ensuring Security Department compliance with all Happy Valley Casino policies, procedures, and Internal Controls.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Security Department Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Continuously reviewing departmental procedures and recommending improvements to Security leadership.
  • Building and maintaining professional working relationships with local law enforcement, the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
  • Establishing strong cross-departmental partnerships to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensuring all security incidents, accidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and criminal activities are properly investigated, documented, and reported.
  • Coordinating investigative and operational activities with the Surveillance Department to detect and prevent theft, cheating, fraud, and suspicious activity.
  • Maintaining a visible presence on the casino floor and throughout the property.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing preventative security measures.
  • Managing and monitoring the operation of security technologies, including CCTV systems, access control systems, alarms, communications equipment, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensuring all incident reports are accurately completed, reviewed, approved, and entered into the approved incident reporting database.
  • Identifying and removing individuals required to be excluded, self-excluded, or ejected from the property under Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Enforcing all requirements under the approved system of Internal Controls.
  • Enforcing regulations prohibiting unauthorized weapons within the licensed facility.
  • Ensuring immediate notification of management, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board representatives, and Pennsylvania State Police regarding reportable incidents and suspicious activities.
  • Conducting and supervising investigations involving theft, fraud, disturbances, property damage, injuries, and other criminal matters excluding gaming-regulatory violations.
  • Ensuring appropriate investigations involving injured persons on property.
  • Reviewing all Security Crime, Incident, Medical, and Arrest reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Controlling and monitoring access to restricted casino facilities and sensitive operational areas.
  • Assisting with the administration and assignment of keys through approved key control systems.
  • Maintaining Security Department personnel records, reports, files, and documentation.
  • Training, supervising, and evaluating Security Officers, Security Supervisors, and other assigned personnel.
  • Operating safety and fire protection equipment during emergency situations and assisting with emergency response operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local gaming regulations.
  • Promoting outstanding guest service and positive customer relations.
  • Performing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
The Successful Candidate for This Role Will Possess the Following:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of security or law enforcement experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required, preferably in a high-volume casino, gaming, hospitality, or entertainment environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Thorough understanding of Responsible Gambling Program requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licensure through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Ability to work any shift as required, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call‑outs.
  • Ability to remain on‑call for emergency situations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, typically 6-8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and customer service excellence.
