We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Security to lead our Security Department. This position is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operation, compliance, and effectiveness of all property security functions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, extensive casino security knowledge, and a strong commitment to regulatory compliance, asset protection, guest safety, and team development.

This position will be responsible for:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interviewing, hiring, and selecting qualified candidates for the Security Department.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of Security team members and leaders to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Ensuring that all Security personnel are properly trained in department procedures, emergency response tactics, customer service standards, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Maintaining responsibility for the physical safety of guests, team members, and company assets while protecting the property from illegal activity.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources to develop and administer employee access badge and credential programs.
  • Partnering with Human Resources and Legal representatives to manage internal investigations and risk management matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations, Internal Controls, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Happy Valley Casino policies and procedures.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining department Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining departmental schedules and minimum staffing plans to support continuous casino operations.
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of departmental budgets, capital expenditures, labor planning, and variance reporting.
  • Building and maintaining productive working relationships with regulatory agencies, including the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Pennsylvania State Police, local law enforcement agencies, and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with all operational departments to support compliance and operational excellence.
  • Ensuring all security incidents, accidents, disturbances, criminal activity, and emergency events are properly investigated and documented.
  • Coordinating security efforts with the Surveillance Department to prevent theft, cheating, fraud, and suspicious activities.
  • Maintaining a visible presence on the casino floor and throughout the property.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing preventative security measures to protect the organization.
  • Managing the operation, maintenance, and effectiveness of all security-related technology, including CCTV systems, access control systems, alarms, communication equipment, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensuring proper documentation, review, recording, and approval of all incident reports involving guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Overseeing the identification and removal of individuals subject to exclusion, self-exclusion, or ejection under Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Ensuring all security responsibilities required under the approved system of internal controls are properly performed and documented.
  • Enforcing all regulations related to the possession of weapons within the licensed facility.
  • Ensuring immediate notification to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Pennsylvania State Police, and designated management personnel regarding reportable incidents and suspicious activities.
  • Overseeing investigations involving theft, fraud, workplace violence, property damage, injuries, and other security-related matters.
  • Ensuring proper investigations and documentation of all guest and team member injuries occurring on company property.
  • Maintaining responsibility for criminal investigations occurring on property, excluding gaming-related regulatory investigations.
  • Safeguarding company assets through proactive loss prevention and security measures.
  • Reviewing all security incident, medical, crime, and arrest reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Promoting and maintaining a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and service excellence within the department.
  • Supporting and promoting Responsible Gaming initiatives and maintaining thorough knowledge of the property's Responsible Gambling Program.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
The Successful Candidate for this Role Will Possess the Following:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Security Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Security and Asset Protection experience required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licensure through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as business needs require.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
