Job summary

The Hotel at Auburn University is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to uphold Ithaka Hospitality standards and ensure effective communication from leadership to team members and guests.

Responsibilities include leading daily restaurant operations for Ariccia Cucina and Piccolo, training the FOH team, and partnering with Talent & Learning on recruiting and development while maintaining compliance and smooth service across all outlets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related subject matter preferred.
• Three (3) or more years' experience in hospitality, with supervisory experience.
• Minimum twenty-one (21) years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Certification in CPR required.
• Responsible Vendor Certification required.
• Hospitality experience in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with proper staffing and opening/closing procedures.
• Ensure service standards per Four Diamond, AAA, and Forbes from welcome to farewell.
• Conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings with updates on occupancy, reservations, and menu changes.
• Provide visible leadership and stay calm during high-volume periods and emergencies.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by anticipating needs and resolving concerns.
• Maintain interdepartmental communication and collaboration across hotel departments.
• Establish and enforce SOPs and compliance with regulations and vendor policies.
• Complete daily and monthly operational reports and required documentation.
• Support planning and execution of events for Ariccia Cucina and Piccolo.
• Maintain equipment and facilities and coordinate repairs as needed.
