Job summary

Swain Resort is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support daily operations across outlets, including kitchens, dining areas, and bars. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating menus with the Executive Chef, and ensuring food safety and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced resort setting.

You will assist with scheduling, training, and directing shifts, while helping manage inventory, costs, and event functions.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or management experience in a food and beverage environment preferred.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead staff and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, cost control, and employee scheduling preferred.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operations of all Food & Beverage outlets, including kitchens, dining areas, and bars.
• Help supervise, train, and schedule Food & Beverage staff to maintain appropriate coverage and service standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff during shifts and assist with resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Work with Food & Beverage management and the Executive Chef to coordinate menus, specials, and event offerings.
• Ensure food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures are consistently followed.
• Assist with monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, controlling waste, and managing department costs.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout all Food & Beverage areas.
• Assist with the setup, coordination, and execution of banquets, events, and special functions.
• Address guest questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
