Job summary

AVMAC LLC in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced F/A-18 Ordnance Mechanic to inspect, install, maintain and handle armament systems for flight operations. You will ensure safety, mission readiness and compliance with Navy standards through maintenance and testing of ordnance equipment.

The role requires handling munitions, reading schematics, and documenting maintenance in NALCOMIS, with a strong focus on safety and reliability in a demanding aviation environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four years’ experience as an Ordnance Technician.
• NAMTGD AO A school or equivalent maintenance courses.
• Capable of operating support equipment and using relevant regulations.
• Knowledge of naval maintenance publications and OPNAV 4790.2 series.
• Ability to document maintenance in NALCOMIS.
• Experience loading/arming/disarming and downloading munitions.
• Experience with sheet metal, fiberglass and composites.
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations governing explosives maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains, repairs and services aircraft weapon, electrical, pneumatic and airframe components.
• Performs hourly, calendar, phase and conditional inspections per maintenance requirement cards.
• Troubleshoots ordnance system discrepancies to the component level.
• Reads schematics and interprets applicable technical data.
• Uses special tools, test equipment and precision devices in maintenance.
