Job summary

AVMAC LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking a F/A-18 Powerplants Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of the F404-GE-402 engines and related powerplant systems on the F/A-18.

You will work with engine components, fuel systems, afterburners, and associated support equipment, ensuring compliance with naval manuals, safety rules, and quality standards. US Citizenship and ability to meet medical requirements are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience with USN/USMC F/A-18 Aircraft preferably as a Power Plant Mechanic.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties and have a valid driver license.
• US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
• Must be qualified as a Plane Captain and capable of operating support equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft engines, fuel systems, and secondary power systems of moderate difficulty.
• Applies professional technical knowledge and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting blueprints or manuals.
• Keep aircraft logs and records up to date and accurate.
• Troubleshoot engineer, APU, secondary power and airframe related systems using appropriate test equipment.
