Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced F-35 Sustainment Program Chief Engineer to lead a cross‑functional team delivering GPS and anti‑jam solutions for the warfighter, ensuring lifecycle planning and on‑time execution.

The role requires strong program management and systems engineering across hardware and software, with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Onsite in El Segundo, CA with a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Experience managing projects and engineering teams, including resource planning and task allocation.
• Experience in project management and systems engineering for hardware and software systems and integration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cross-functional engineers to ensure alignment with program requirements and successful delivery of project outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Program Management Team to define project scope, align with contractual commitments, and ensure technical requirements are met.
• Oversee the execution of engineering work packages in accordance with the project contract and delivery schedule.
• Coordinate with IPTLs, POs, and CAMs to manage resource allocation and staffing for engineering activities.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with the customer, managing program risks and opportunities with architects and design authorities.
• Monitor and manage baselines and customer-driven changes; support cost/schedule impact assessment for out-of-scope requests.
