Job summary

Acuity Eye Group is seeking an Optical Consultant/Optician to measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames according to prescriptions. You will assist patients in frame selection and ensure precise optical alignment with facial measurements. This role emphasizes high-quality customer service and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities include preparing work orders for grinding lenses, verifying lens specs with a lensometer, and advising on lenses, coatings, and frame choices to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of related work experience as an Optician/ Optical Consultant.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Certified Dispensing Optician certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Measure bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance to fit frames.
• Verify lenses are ground to specifications and validate prescriptions with a lensometer.
• Assist clients in selecting frames and coordinate with facial and eye measurements.
• Maintain records of prescriptions, work orders, and payments.
• Prepare work orders for grinding lenses and fabricate eyeglasses.
• Provide excellent customer service and up-sell lenses and coatings.
