Job summary

The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an individual to assist patients in selecting eyewear based on their visual needs and lifestyle. This role includes obtaining optical measurements, dispensing and fitting eyeglasses, and educating patients about lens options.

The ideal candidate will promote a positive patient experience, verify insurance benefits, and work closely with doctors and staff to ensure outstanding care. Essential tasks also involve coordinating with optical laboratories and managing frame inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on visual needs and lifestyle.
• Obtain accurate optical measurements for eyewear orders.
• Dispense, adjust, fit, and troubleshoot eyeglasses.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear care.
• Verify and process vision insurance benefits.
• Coordinate and communicate with optical laboratories regarding orders and remakes.
• Serve as the primary contact for frame representatives and vendors.
• Assist with frame inventory, merchandising, and selection of frame lines.
• Answer telephone calls and assist patients with scheduling appointments.
• Maintain accurate patient and order records.
• Promote a positive patient experience and support optical sales goals.
• Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to provide outstanding patient care.
