Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA is looking for a Sales Associate/Optician for its South Ames office. You will repair, adjust and dispense prescription lenses, measure and fit eyewear, and assist patients with lens design choices.

We value service, teamwork, and extraordinary care. ABO certification is preferred but not required; on-the-job training is available. Hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday in Ames.

Qualifications

• Two years of optical industry experience preferred.
• On the job training available.
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.

Responsibilities

• Repair, adjust & dispense prescription lenses and frames.
• Measure and fit all eyewear.
• Takes measurement and evaluates patients for assistance in lens design.
• File paperwork to insurance.
• Complete daily sales and receipts.
• Prepare bank deposits, working with MD's and OD's to ensure that patients receive proper eyewear in accordance with clinic values.
