Job summary

SMITH MFG in Clearfield, UT is seeking a Lab Technician to produce high quality eyewear by following the Quality Manufacturing Program (QMP). You will select lenses, mark, tape, block, polish, coat polycarbonate lenses, and ensure final inspection meets exacting standards.

This full-time role requires standing for long periods, operating lab tools safely, maintaining equipment and a clean stockroom, and documenting lab statistics.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality eyewear through the Quality Manufacturing Program (QMP).
• Using the QMP, select lenses, mark, tape, block, generate, finish, and polish, and coat polycarbonate lenses.
• A/R and mirror processing, first inspection, finish layout and blocking, edging, tinting and UV coating, and grooving.
• Perform drop-ball testing, safety monogramming, mounting and final inspecting.
• Operate lab tools and equipment with proper maintenance and keep the lab clean and safe.
