Job summary

Milwaukee Eye Care is seeking an optical team member to provide high-quality dispensing services and exceptional patient care. The optician will present eyewear options with enthusiasm, instruct patients on use and care, and strive to meet sales targets while ensuring accurate prescriptions and comfort.

Responsibilities include measuring, fitting, and adjusting eyewear, communicating with physicians, and maintaining lab orders and patient records with attention to detail and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience in an optical dispensary.
• Prior sales experience preferred.
• Ability to interact courteously with physicians and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the optical in a professional manner.
• Maintain knowledge of lens products, options and frames.
• Recommend best products based on vision and lifestyle.
• Promote eyewear sales and meet revenue goals.
• Measure and fit eyewear, adjust per prescription.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance into software.
• Consult with ophthalmologists/optometrists as needed.
• Ensure timely delivery of orders from lab and track status.
• Maintain clean optical area and display boards.
• Educate non-optical staff about promotions.
• Handle frame repairs and ensure frame boards are up-to-date.
