EyeCare Associates of South Tulsa in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Patient Care Counselor to educate patients on their lens options and guide them through pre- and post-operative steps for surgical procedures. You will conduct consultations, schedule patients, and perform preliminary testing to support counseling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in ambulatory surgery preferred.
• Knowledge in medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform required communication with patients regarding pre-op and post-op via phone.
• Compile and mail information to patients about procedures, fees and financing options.
• Assist patients with Care Credit applications as needed.
• Review surgery instructions and forms with patients.
• Educate patients on procedures and document pre- and post-surgery steps.
• Ensure payments are collected from patients as applicable.
• Provide ASC/hospital with required paperwork.
• Scan pre- and post-surgical paperwork into database.
• Prepare patient’s surgical charts with proper paperwork.
