Thomas Eye Group in Roswell, GA is hiring an entry-level Special Testing Technician to support ophthalmology clinics with advanced testing equipment such as OCT, perimetry, topography, and photography. You will document results, enter data into the EMR, administer eye drops, and assist physicians in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma (degree preferred) and 2-3 years in an ophthalmic clinic is ideal.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; degree preferred.
2-3 years of ophthalmic clinic experience preferred.
Knowledge of EMR, MS Word and Excel; ability to type 45 wpm.
Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Perform Special Testing such as Visual Field Testing, OCT, Humphrey Visual Fields, IOL Master/A-Scan, Fundus photography, topography, pachymetry and axial length measurements.
Document patients' test results in the EMR system.
Administer eye drops and explain effects to patients.
Maintain and disinfect examination rooms and equipment.
Assist physicians and other ophthalmology providers.
Transport patients within the facility to testing rooms.
Provide training to technicians when required.
Stay updated with testing technologies and equipment.
