Responsibilities

  • Support eye examinations and maintain examination equipment.
  • Enter patient data into EMR and document medical information.
  • Greet patients courteously and assist with check-in/check-out.
  • Dispense samples and written prescriptions as directed by the optometrist.
  • Route charts and complete follow-up tasks within timelines.
  • Explain medications and instructions to patients clearly.
  • Escort patients to front desk for check-out and ensure proper coding of visits.
  • Transcribe consultations or family discussions accurately.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked and equipment clean for next day.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor or optometrist promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
