Job summary

Dr. Tavel Optical Group in Indianapolis is hiring an Optometric Technician in Training to serve as the doctor’s right hand—conducting pre-tests, gathering vital health information, and prepping patients for an exceptional experience.

We will teach the skills needed, and you bring a willingness to learn, a care for patients, and attention to detail that makes a difference. Some Saturdays are required. You may travel to support other locations.

Qualifications

• Mandatory two-week paid training with no absences.
• Prior medical, clinical, or pharmacy experience is helpful but not required.
• Availability to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
• Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
• Stay current with training and actively work to grow your skills.
• Ability to travel to support other locations only if needed.
