Dr. Tavel Optical Group is seeking an Optician in Training to join our team. You don’t need optical experience; we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

You’ll learn in a fast-paced environment focused on people, service, and healthcare, with two-week paid training at our Indianapolis corporate office. This role is designed to break into a professional field where quality eye care and customer service intersect.

Qualifications

• No optical experience required; training provided.
• Availability to work during office hours (including some Saturdays).
• Willingness to pursue certifications and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their face, lifestyle, and vision needs.
• Educate patients on lens options, eyewear care, and how to maximize their glasses.
• Manage front-desk tasks like insurance verification, scheduling, and benefit authorizations with accuracy.
• Place and process eyewear orders with precision and troubleshoot when needed.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments for proper fit.
• Build lasting relationships with patients to encourage repeat visits.
