Target Optical is seeking a casual part-time Ophthalmic Technician to support eye exams and patient care at our Lake Bluff location. The role emphasizes accurate testing, patient communication, and efficient clinic flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, performing pre-exam tests, and managing records. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential, with weekend/evening shifts possible to meet store needs.

Competenze

High School graduate or equivalent.
1+ year of strong customer service skills (internal/external).
Strong communicator and listener.
Problem solving ability.
Organization skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
Ability to use exam software, point-of-sale technology and ophthalmic equipment.
Ability to work autonomously.

Mansioni

Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
Performs preliminary evaluations including obtaining accurate patient histories, reviewing medication lists, visual acuities, motility evaluations, pupil/angle assessments, refraction, pachymetry, tonometry, and dilation.
Performs special testing including OCTs, biometry, topography, and retinal imaging/photography.
Explains measurements and answers patient questions.
Maintains organized patient records and supports HIPAA compliance.
Uses appointment book and computer systems effectively.
Maintains safe working environment and supports team.
