Job summary

LensCrafters Clinic in Durham, NC is seeking a full-time Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience and support the exam process. You will assist the optometrist, obtain medical history, perform pre-exam tests, and help link doctor and retail functions while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of customer service, strong communication, organization, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and display a professional image
• Answer the telephone promptly in a friendly manner
• Assist the optometrist with eye examinations and pre-exam tasks
• Review prescriptions and patient information for accuracy
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records
• Support retention and exam follow-ups
• Place contact lens orders and manage contact lens room
• Input patient data and services in CIAO with accuracy
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Assist retail as patient demand allows
