Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a medical scribe; 1+ year preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to draft accurate, grammatically correct narrative notes in English.
• Strong keyboarding skills; ~70 wpm.
• Ability to protect confidential patient information.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Experience with EHR systems and patient documentation.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe exam notes during patient exams.
• Ensure complete and accurate entries in the EHR.
• Assist with patient flow and room setup.
• Prepare equipment for exams.
• Print and distribute prescriptions and patient communications.
• Follow up on physician instructions.
• Coordinate with scheduling and testing groups.
