Job summary

EyeCare Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Scribe for on-site support in Des Peres, MO. The role focuses on documenting visits, managing EMR, and aiding patient flow in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and 1 year of related experience, with certification preferred. Travel between offices is required; benefits include health, vision, dental, and PTO, with competitive base pay.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations.
• Efficient in using EMR and ability to accurately record information.
• Good typing, spelling, grammar and oral communication skills.
• Communication skills and ability to coordinate with health care team.
• Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
• HIPAA confidentiality standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as performed by the physician.
• Responsible for operation of EMR for patients.
• Understand ICD-9 codes when inputting into EMR.
• Ensure accurate procedure coding/charges and correct diagnosis codes.
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Open and close exam rooms as needed.
• Assist with testing and maintain patient flow.
• Maintain discretion and professionalism around patients.
• Demonstrate good judgment, organization, and self-motivation.
• Willing to travel between offices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
