Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in optometry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient data into the EHR during exams as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort patients to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow, communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as determined by leadership.
• Prepare patients for eye examinations and vision therapy; instruct patients about medications, tests, and procedures.
• Perform vision and diagnostic tests.
• Collect patient history and enter data into the EHR.
• Assist with answering the telephone and scheduling appointments.
