Job summary

Carle Health in Champaign, IL is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Eye Department, joining a team of 13 PSRs supporting 7 Ophthalmologists and 5 Optometrists, and collaborating across a diverse mix of skills.

In this role you will manage patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, insurance tasks, and messages to physicians, while maintaining a patient-focused, professional communications standard and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer skills and ability to manage phone system and patient records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily clinic prep including patient identification and registration.
• Handles patient check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling.
• Takes and delivers messages to physicians, nurses and staff; transmits information promptly and accurately.
• Manages incoming patient care requests, referrals, and insurance-related questions; assists with prior authorizations as needed.
