Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the optometrist during eye exams, conduct pre-testing, and document patient histories. You will work with instrumentation, take measurements, and guide patients through the examination process.

The role includes training patients on contact lens insertion, managing contact lens trials, and assisting with documentation and patient flow in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Effective verbal communication to prioritize tasks and answer inquiries.
• Effective written communication to document patient visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and pre-testing.
• Take measurements and administer tests to assess visual capabilities.
• Perform contact lens insertion and education for patients.
• Order contact lenses and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed.
• Prioritize patient care and flow, communicating with doctors, staff and patients.
• Support other office duties and cross-train as needed.
