Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to support onsite and remote patient exams. You will prepare patients, perform pre-exam tests, and explain procedures, acting as a bridge between patients and Optometrists.

The role requires at least one year of related experience, an HS diploma or GED, and a healthcare background is preferred. Training is provided, with a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history; enter data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye exams and document results.
• Explain preliminary tests to patients and accompany remote exams.
• Coordinate remote eye exams, testing, and video conferencing.
• Hand off to retail staff with exam recommendations.
• Maintain patient records and HIPAA compliance.
• Manage appointments and respond to no-shows/cancellations.
• Educate patients on contact lenses and insurance plans.
